Funeral Services and Internment were held privately at the request of Mr. Michael J. Connell who passed away in the loving presence of his family on Friday, December 26th in Lynnfield, following a lengthy illness. He was 70 years old.
Michael was born on March 25, 1955, in
Salem, MA to his late parents, Frank Connell and Doris (Lallier) Connell. He was one of three children raised and educated in Lynnfield. Michael was an alumnus of Lynnfield High School, Class of 1971. Michael worked in plastics and became a plastics welder. He then opened his own business "Plastic Structures." While in business, Michael developed many relationships. He constructed many projects for the United States Government as well as many hospitals around the United States. During this time, he married Cynthia A. (Flint) who was the mother of his three children. They later separated and Michael continued being the best dad he could be. He later closed his company after 30 years in business. He then became a Maintenance Worker for the Oak Grove Village Company and worked in maintaining properties for almost 15 years, until he fully retired. Michael was a lifetime member at the Wakefield Elks Club, Lodge #1276. He was regularly active within the Elks and was a past Exalted Ruler. The Elks was a second home to Michael; he socialized and had many friends over the years. He was an avid fisherman, mainly freshwater fishing, and he had a camper that he would frequent as often as possible in
Sanford, ME. His family was always his favorite people to be surrounded by and he truly cherished being a papa to all of his grandchildren.
He is the beloved father of Jennifer K. Connell of Lynnfield and her companion Shawn Jordan of Lynn, Sharane Connell – Anderson and her husband Brian Anderson, Rian Connell, Christina Passanissi all of Lynnfield, Danielle Visone and her husband Anthony of Middleton and Bianca Passanissi also of Lynnfield. He is the treasured papa of 8 grandchildren. He is the former husband of the late Cynthia (Flint) Passanissi and the longtime companion of the late Marie Smith. He is the dear brother of the late Frank Connell and David Connell. Also, lovingly survived by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grandnephews.
