Regina Lee Williams, age 76, passed away on November 10, 2025 in Gulfport, MS. She was born in Wiggins, MS on April 01, 1949 to the late Regnar Thompson and Elizabeth Clayton Thompson.

Regina Thompson, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born and raised in Wiggins, Mississippi, Regina brought laughter, intelligence, and light to everyone who had the joy of knowing her.

From a young age, Regina stood out — not only for her quick wit and lively personality, but also for her brilliance. She graduated one of the first in her class from high school in Wiggins before going on to attend Alcorn University, where she continued to shine. Regina had a gift for mathematics — numbers just made sense to her — and she shared that gift with others as a math teacher at Gulfport East High School, where she inspired countless students. Later, she applied her sharp mind and discipline as a lab technician at DuPont Industrial Plant, earning the respect and admiration of all who worked alongside her.

Regina’s life, however, was about far more than work or achievements. She lived every day with humor, energy, and heart. There was never a dull moment when she was around — she had a way of turning ordinary days into something special, often with one of her famous one-liners or a perfectly timed joke that could fill a room with laughter.

A true people person, Regina was deeply social and outgoing, with a gift for making everyone feel seen and loved. She gave freely of her time and spirit, volunteering with Hospice, The Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Voting poles she was known for her kindness, generosity, and deep love for God and her church community.

Family was at the very center of Regina’s world. She loved hosting gatherings and holidays, where her incredible cooking brought everyone together — laughter echoing through the house, her dog always nearby, and her joy shining brightest when surrounded by those she loved. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they adored her in return.

Regina will be remembered as a smart, kind, and strong woman, admired by many and loved by all. Her laughter, wisdom, and unwavering love will continue to live on through her family and all the lives she touched.

She is survived by her loving children, Roshonda (Chris) Hillard; grandchildren, Shaniqua Williams, Shomari Johnson, Kendall Johnson, and Mya Hillard; great-grandchildren, Sabastian, Noha, Brentez, Saina, and Ma’lyia; and one cousin who was like a brother to her, Uncle Richard Clayton, and a host of other cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Regina was preceded in death by her parents, Regnar and Elizabeth Thompson, and her sisters, Gladys Edwards, Betty Thompson, and Cora Collins (Cousin).

Her family takes comfort in knowing that her beautiful spirit — funny, giving, brilliant, and full of love — will forever remain with them.

*Thank you to my children for helping through Her Journey (Alzheimer’s). With their help, she was able to stay in her home & be loved and care for comfortably.
