It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Regina Lynn Wims-Jones, on January 29, 2024, at the age of 52.
Born on December 29, 1971, Regina grew up in Cleveland, Ohio to the parentage of Emma Jean (Wims) Washington and Rickey Reese. At a very young age, Regina
developed the nature of always seeing the glass half full no matter what curveball life threw at her. Nevertheless, Regina’s vivacious smile, natural comedic humor, and bliss cheerfulness always made it an experience to remember.
Regina began her work career at Johns Hopkins in DC and after moving to Texas she worked at Krogers at the time of her call from the Lord, she was employed at Select Specialty Hospital, Longview, TX.
She was a devoted daughter, mother, niece, cousin, wife, and friend, and her kindness and love touched everyone who knew her.
Regina loved traveling, participating in her sorority organization “Rho Zeta Phi” and spending time with her family, especially her children. Her kindness, compassion, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Regina leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, Children: Kwenton Johnson and Adaysia Thomas, Partner: Pamela Jones, Mother; Emma Jean Washington, Father: Rickey Reese, Bonus Children: Shaylon Jones, RaquelJones, and Jamie Nixon. Bonus grandson: Ja’vaughn Wilkerson, Uncle: Tyrone Wims, Johnny Wims, Aunts: Staria Farley (Marion), Tanya Vinson-Curtis (Michael), Andrea Wims, Cousins: Fabian Graham (Dorian, Chelbi, Malieke), Bambi Graham, Marchese Graham(Damion, Logan, Mason), Nicole Jeffries (Taliyah Ann, Quinton Jermain), Jermaine Smith (Amber Cherie), Jionna Amor, Rickey Holton Jr. (Ryder Dex), Special Friends: Shannon Mack, Dawatha Jones, Keshia Odens, Bubba Chops God Son, her extended family at the Courtyard Marriott and Vince Williams. She was preceded in death by her stepfather; Douglas Washington and Uncle: Fred Graham.
The funeral service will be held on February 10, 2024, @ 12:PM at Bigham
Mortuary.1007 Martin Luther King Blvd Longview, Texas 75602. In lieu of flowers, the
family kindly requests that donations be made to Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, Texas.
Regina will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Rest in peace.
