Our beloved Reginald "Rattle Snake" Bacon entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 15, 2022. He was a proud native of Liberty County and committed to faithfully serving his community. Mr. Reginald Bacon graduated from Bradwell Institute in Hinesville, Georgia as part of the class of 1984. Soon after he was employed by the Liberty County Recreation Department where he worked, played, coached, mentored, and built a lifetime of memories. In 2004, he moved on to pursue his dream of owning a professional pool business. With hard work and determination, he became the owner and operator of Sam's Imperial Pools, with clients extending from Georgia to North Carolina.
Reginald had a strong belief in the power of family and community. Community activities and family gatherings were all one and the same to him, as he would often say, "we are all family and children need to know their people." Over the years he rallied support and held Fall Festivals, Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremonies, Christmas Parades, Back to School Activities, Fun Days and much more for his beloved Holmestown family.
Reginald's heart has always belonged to Bertie, his mother. Bertie's house was his haven and he celebrated her at every opportunity, with events that would bring friends and family from near and far. It was his goal to make sure everyone was fed, happy, and included as family. It was at these times you could see that contagious smile he was so warmly known for.Reginald will be deeply remembered for his strong work ethic, skill of being able to do almost anything and his love of sports and politics.
Reginald Bacon is preceded in death by his father Samuel Bacon, Sr., and his brothers Samuel Bacon, Jr., and Leon Bacon.
Lovingly cherishing his memories are: Mother, Alberta G. Bacon of Midway, GA, Wife, Dr. Sonia M. Bacon of Midway, GA, and Daughters: Sydni A. Bacon of Midway, GA, Candice Curry of Atlanta, GA, Danielle Bacon of Savannah, GA, Sisters: Carolyn (Isaiah) Smith, Rosalyn Scott, Patty (Ernest Ray) Lee, of Midway, GA, Brother: Warren (Melody) Bacon of Midway, GA, Aunt: Viscia Hunt of Midway, GA, Uncles: Amos (Bessie) Bacon of Hinesville, GA, Richard Bacon of Midway GA, Granddaughter: Amiyah Janay Milton of Hinesville, GA, along with a loving host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
