Mr. Reginald Ray "Reggie" Gibbs, 53, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away on June 24, 2025.
Born on August 3, 1971, in Lubbock, Texas, Reggie brought his vibrant spirit and boundless energy into the world from the very beginning. He later made Pittsburgh his home, where he graduated from Pittsburgh Oliver High School and went on to pursue his passion for food at the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts (PICA).
For the past 28 years, Reggie dedicated himself to his career with unwavering pride and commitment. He took great satisfaction in his work and was proud of the legacy he built over nearly three decades.
Reggie was a gifted athlete whose talents spanned football, baseball, and basketball. His natural ability and competitive spirit made him a standout in every sport he played. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan through and through, Reggie wore his Cowboys hats and jerseys with pride-even while surrounded by Steelers fans. On any given day, he would engage in sports talk with his cousins or a person on the elevator at his job. On the day prior to his passing, Reggie was heard discussing the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl win with his primary care physician. His passion for sports and unwavering team spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
His love for food was legendary. Reggie's culinary skills were unmatched, whether enjoying a hearty meal or manning the grill himself. He had an exceptional talent for preparing meats and sauces with such finesse that many believed he could have launched a successful catering business. His sister, Sonya, frequently appointed him grill master. Although she sometimes questioned his methods, the food was always amazingly delicious. Cooking wasn't just a skill for Reggie-it was an expression of love.
Above all else, Reggie cherished his family. He made it known-loudly and often-that they were the center of his world. His warmth extended beyond immediate relatives; he had a way of making everyone feel like family. Known as an outgoing jokester who never met a stranger, Reggie's laughter and light-hearted nature left lasting impressions wherever he went.
He is lovingly remembered by his children: DaQuet Moore, Azriella Mangum, London Gibbs, Paris Gibbs, Jyremiah Grisby, and Zaiden Gibbs-Moore; grandchildren: Aerie'onna Moore, Alaya Moore, Amina Tatum, Aria Montgomery, Ayonna Montgomery, Ayva Moore, Da'joni Moore, Damien Moore, DaQuet Moore Jr., Layla LaMarre, and Melvin Allen III; mother Lutisha Gibbs Clinton and stepfather Calvin Clinton Sr.; sisters LaSonya Gibbs King (Shawn) and Jasmine Jones; brothers TreMaine Gibbs, Calvin Clinton Jr. (Robin), Cesario Clinton, and Christopher Jones; as well as a village of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews-and countless others who were touched by his life.
Reggie now joins those who preceded him in rest: his grandmother Bertha Mae Gibbs; his grandfather Howard Columbus Gibbs Sr.; his uncle Howard Columbus Gibbs Jr.; and his cousin Edwina Byers.
A funeral service honoring Mr. Reginald Ray "Reggie" Gibbs will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 10 AM until the time of service at 12 PM, at the Morningside Church Of God In Christ, 5173 Dearborn St. Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and joy to those who remember his laughter.

Hey Dad, I miss you so much. I´m so thankful for the last 2 years we spent together. It means more to me than anything else that has ever happened. I just can´t believe this is life now. I know you are proud of me & you live w/ in me now but please give me strength as this has not been an easy transition. I accidentally called your phone the other day & all I could do was cry. Driving pass the house isn´t the same, going to church isn´t the same, nothing is really. I´m sorry dad, im sorry we didn´t get that last picture like you said. We didn´t want to believe what you were saying but maybe you did know that the road was coming to an end. I wish we had more time but I know you are sleeping well. I pray the doors of heaven opened for you & you gained your wings. I love you forever & I´ll always remember the good times we had! In any lifetime I´ll pick you as my dad every time! Until we meet again, Love your baby girl

My condolences to the family of Reggie. Reggie was in my program as student while at Oliver HS. Reggie was always a quiet, funny, comical dude. When I would run into him he always gave me the biggest hugs and greeting! I last saw Reggie a few years back at the Rivers. He gave me my usual hug and greeting. I always thought about Reggie whenever I drove pass his house. I would see him out on the porch or steps and I would yell his name! I miss you my friend! As I read his obituary I can´t believe that my sons good friends growing up was Cesario!! Pittsburgh is so small!
May God Bless your family!

Love Condolences to the Gibb Family. I was raised as a next door neighbor to Reggie and he's always been a good person. I am in shock that Reg has transitioned way too soon. I did not get to know the man that he became, but from reading the post from loved ones, friends and the family he created, he left a trail blaze of love behind for close family and friends to cherish. I salute Reginald Ray Gibbs on the good person he remained to be as he returned back to the source of love and a family reunion with his ancestors. Love and Peace.

Nephew....remember that time when you came over to the house and I was sitting there watching TV and wearing those really thick reading glasses and you came through the door and without missing a beat you said..."I bet you can see the future with those!"
From behind the scenes you were always quietly watching out for and protecting your family!
I know we butted heads sometimes but I also know that you loved your "Aunt Paul " and knew that I really loved you!
I'm going to miss all the things that made you Reggie!!
Love you muchly!
Say hi to Deddy and Mama for me...
