Regis P. Mucha

Regis P. Mucha, 72, of Hickory, died Saturday, January 17, 2026. He was born August 8, 1953, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Paul and Genevieve Smorag Mucha. Regis was a 1971 graduate of Fort Cherry High School and attended Pittsburgh Technical School. He had worked for Moore Business Forms as an Electrical Technician but was most notably a proud dairy farmer for most of his life. Regis was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed Pittsburgh Pirate baseball as well as high school and college basketball and baseball. Some of his fondest memories where those made in the 18 plus years "Mr. Rege" served as an assistant coach in both boy's middle school and girl's high school basketball at Fort Cherry. When he was younger, he enjoyed bowling, playing softball, square dancing, live concerts and music. Regis is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janet Miller Mucha; his three children: Ashley Johnson (Chase) of Houston, Brian Mucha (Lacey) of Canonsburg and Maggie Alderton (Brad) of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; seven grandchildren: Brooks and Ryder Johnson, Weston, Dalton and Karsyn Mucha, and Piper and Lilly Alderton; a brother-in-law, Charles Weidner; a nephew, Steve Weidner (Jenn); as well as several nieces and nephews. A sister, RoseAnn Weidner, is deceased. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Friday, January 23, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K.
