Regis G. Niederberger, of Bridgeville, passed away on August 23, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born on January 18, 1945, to the late Philomena and William Niederberger.
He was the beloved husband for 53 years to the late Kathleen Caslin Niederberger. Together, they built a strong and loving family. Regis was the proud father of Lori (Mike) Christ, Eric (Yvonne) Niederberger, and Scott (Casie) Niederberger. He was a devoted grandfather to Mike Jr. (Becca), Matt (Sarah), Tommy, Jackie, Jimmy, Katie, Charlie, Raegan, Mack, and Ryan, and a cherished great-grandfather to Lane. Dear brother to Rita and Mary. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Regis was preceded in death by his brothers Ernie and Paul.
Regis was a lifelong sports fan and played basketball throughout high school at St. Wendelins. He attended Duquesne University and worked in the casket industry for 30 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years.
Married to Kathleen in 1970, Regis was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was known for telling his children stories from his paper route days, always with humor and detail. Most importantly, he was deeply committed to his grandchildren, rarely missing a sporting event over the span of 25 years. His steady presence and support meant everything to his family.
Regis will be remembered for his loyalty, devotion to family, and love of sports. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Sunday August 31, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a blessing service at 3:00 p.m. at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317.
