Reid Michael Briggs, 11, of Sulphur, LA passed away on October 14, 2024. Reid was born on October 14, 2013, in Lake Charles, LA to Korey and Jordana Briggs.
Reid was a passionate baseball player with Tornado Athletics, where he thrived on the field and made lasting memories with his teammates. He was also a nominee for Student of the Year at Vincent Settlement Elementary, showcasing his intelligence and spirit. Reid embodied the fun and loving sportsman while enjoying football, baseball, basketball, and fishing. Reid was known for his vibrant personality, humor, and love for spending time with friends and family. He had an infectious smile that could light up any room, and his kindness touched the lives of many. One of his greatest honors was raising and lowering the American flag (“posting of the colors”) every day for his school, Vincent Settlement.
Reid leaves behind his loving parents, Jordana and Korey Briggs; siblings, Brodey Lee Briggs and Knox Jordan Briggs; grandparents, Kirk Alexander and Judy, and Mike and Andrea Briggs; great grandfather, Jerry Briggs; aunts and uncles, Russell Alexander and Nicole, Cameron Alexander, Jason and Brandie Alexander, Allison Joiner and Dustin, Kodey Briggs, Nicholas Briggs and Celeste, and Kayla Inmon; and numerous loving cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Victory Worship in Sulphur, LA under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. Visitation will begin from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday, October 18, 2024, at Victory Worship of Sulphur. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at Victory Worship. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines South Cemetery. David Trahan will officiate services.
