Reid Carlton Smith

Reid Carlton Smith, 73, passed away Saturday February 19, 2022 in Lenoir, NC. Reid was born in Caldwell County on June 1, 1948 to the late Robert M. and Ola Mae Price Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi A. Smith and sisters, Sylvia Smith, Barbara Robertson and Janet Anthony. Reid was a Christian and a member of Grandview Park Baptist Church. Reid loved to play his musical instruments and sing. He is survived by his sister, Linda Wilkie; nieces, Anita, Kellie, Dreama and Madge; nephews, Mark, Mike and Robbie; the children of Naomi Smith; grandson, Kaleb; and special friends, Berchie Atwood and her children, Donna Mauser and Sandy Lowe. A funeral service will be held at Grandview Park Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Raymond Spann officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at Grandview Park Baptist Church. Interment will follow at First Baptist Church of Whitnel in Lenoir. Pallbearers will be Mark Anthony, Mike Anthony, Robbie Wilkie, Eddie Greene, Jim Raney, Tony Atwood, Jeff Poarch and Craig Atwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grandview Park Baptist Church at 2539 Grandview Cir SW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
