Reida Lyn Medley, 52, of Reidsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at the Penn Nursing Center after suffering a stroke earlier this year. Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Evergreen Memory Gardens with Rev. Dwayne Anders officiating.
Reida was born on July 11, 1973, to Lena B. and the late John M Medley and had lived her entire life in Reidsville. She was a 1991 graduate of Reidsville High School. In August of 1990, she began her career with Annie Penn Hospital and later with Cone Health. She held several positions at Annie Penn, including Emergency Department registration, Materials Management associate, and, most recently, serving as manager with Cone Health’s Health Information Management team. She consistently demonstrated integrity that was complemented by a strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude. She was just shy of 35 years of dedicated service.
Reida was a devoted daughter, a loving sister, and a loyal friend. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, her compassion, and unwavering support for the underdog. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and had many cherished friends and co-workers. Despite the adversity she faced over the last 5 months, Reida never gave up and found strength in each new day.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Robert J. Medley; her paternal grandparents, Julius W. and Ida R Medley; and her maternal grandparents, R. Fulton and Lora L. Brame.
She is survived by her mother, Lena Brame Medley of the home, and her much-loved rescue kitties.
