Remo W. Ficca Sr.

Remo W. Ficca Sr., 87, of Lower Burrell, died Saturday, April 12, 2025, in UPMC St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born in Arnold on Oct. 9, 1937, to the late Joseph and Eva Paulice Ficca and had been a lifelong resident of Lower Burrell. Mr. Ficca was a member of Mount St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington. He retired in 2014, after 55 years as a pharmacist. His most recent employer was Keystone Pharmacy, New Alexandria, where he worked for 30 years. He had also worked for Springdale Pharmacy and Town and Country Pharmacy, New Kensington. He enjoyed baking, gardening, Pittsburgh sports, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janice Lynn Johnstone Ficca; sons, Remo (Lisa) Ficca Jr. of Lower Burrell and Scott (Christine) Ficca of Chantilly, VA; grandchildren, Abigail (Justin) Koscianski, Joseph Ficca, Brooke Freeman, and Ashley Ficca; sister, Phyllis Nolan of Lower Burrell; and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Ficca. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Monday, April 14, 2025, at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder St., where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
