Cynthia M. "Cyndi" Ficca, 70 of Boothwyn died on February 6, 2025, at her home. Born in Chester, she grew up in Bethel Township and lived in West Chester then Philadelphia before moving to Boothwyn in 1996.
Cyndi graduated from Garnet Valley High School, class of 1971. She attended West Chester State College and graduated with a BS in Music Education in 1975. After graduation, she taught music at Concord Elementary School in the Garnet Valley School District. Cyndi changed direction in her career and was employed by Teva (previously Cephalon) Pharmaceuticals in West Chester PA where she worked for over 25 years.
Cyndi was an active member of St. Paul's P.E. Church where she served on the Vestry as Secretary, Directress of the Altar Guild and was a member of the choir. She was also a member of Sigma Alpha Iota Professional Music Fraternity and the Media Chamber Chorale. During her twenties, Cyndi enjoyed marching with several drum corps including the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, the Reading Buccaneers Corp, and the New York City Skyliners where she developed many lifelong friendships. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed music and crocheting, but most important was her family.
She was the daughter of Susan D. Crossman Ficca and the late Nicholas A. Ficca, sister of Cecilia N. Ficca, Nicholas D. Ficca (Christine) and Melissa A. Hurst (Donald), aunt of Rachel C. Skibiszewski (Steve), Amanda N. Ficca, Nicholas J. Ficca, M. Donald Hurst, III (Alegra), Shannon E. Hurst and Matthew D. Hurst, the niece of Gloria Brancati (late Lou) and David S. Crossman (Nancy). She is also survived by many cousins and her beloved cat, Chloe.
Burial Rite and Eucharist 11 AM Saturday, March 1, 2025, at St. Paul's P.E. Church, 301 E. 9th St., Chester, PA 19013 where relatives and friends may call after 10 AM. Burial will be private.
Memorial gifts to the St. Paul's Episcopal Church Music Fund or the Altar Guild would be appreciated.
