White-Luttrell Funeral Homes, Ltd. - Ridley ParkBarbara A. Yarnall, 91 a long time resident of Swarthmore died on March 28, 2026. Born in Chester, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Bramble) Wright.
Barbara was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1953. She had many jobs throughout her long life including working at Strawbridge and Clothier while being a stay-at-home mom. Eventually she returned to work as an administrative assistant at The American College of Life Underwriters in Bryn Mawr. At the age of seventy-two she retired after a long career at the Delaware County Intermediate Unit. She was a member of the Ridley Park United Methodist Church. Barbara enjoyed watching the Phillies, playing cards and spending time with her many friend groups. The times she cherrished most were spent with her family going on vacation to Treasure Island, FL, having monthly family dinners and relaxing on their annual vacations to Ocean City, NJ.
She was the wife of the late Richard H. Yarnall who died on August 1, 2014 after 59 years of marriage, mother of Richard A. Yarnall (Janice), JoAnn Poole (Harold), Karen Murray (Robert), and David Yarnall (Amanda), grandmother of Richard A. Yarnall, Jr. (Kelly), Katie Evans, Emily Garvey (Michael), Jonathan Poole (Emily), Robert Murray, Jr. (Kaitlin), Faith Yarnall and Hunter Yarnall, great-grandmother of Gemma and Taylor Goicuria, Mason and Chase Evans, Madison, Michael and Logan Garvey, Haley and Hudson Poole and Olivia and Benjamin Murray. Barbara was also the sister of the late Eleanor Grant, Jeannette Wright and George Wright.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 6, 2026 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call after 9 AM. Burial will follow in Lawn Croft Cemetery.
Memorial gifts to Ridley Park United Methodist Church, 501 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078 would be appreciated.
