Obituary of Remo Malgieri
Remo Malgieri, 86, of Largo, Florida passed away December 19, 2022. He was born on June 1, 1936 in Solopaca, Italy to Silvestro Malgieri and Serafina Forgione. He came to the United States where he met and married the love of his life MaryAnn on August 10, 1957. Together they had 5 children that he loved very much, Lisa, Remo Jr., Angela, Michele, and Debora.
Remo owned and operated San Remo Masonry Inc. for over 45 years before retiring in 1997. He also worked for the Philadelphia Inquirer for over 10 years.
Remo was a devout Catholic. He moved to Largo, Florida and attended. St Patrick Catholic Church. Remo President of the Palm Hill Players for over 10 years. Remo enjoyed hosting and singing karaoke at the North Club. He enjoyed helping his wife decorate the clubhouse for holidays and events. He was a member of the Largo Community Center.
Remo enjoyed singing, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends.
Remo is survived by his loving wife of 65 years MaryAnn Malgieri, daughters Lisa (James) Calby, Angela ( Michael) Vanderputten, Michele Malgieri, and Debora Malgieri Currey, brother Martin Malgieri, sister Concetta Iuliano, 13 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son Remo Joseph Malgieri, Jr, parents Silvestro and Serafina Malgieri, brothers Angelo Malgieri and Pasquale Malgieri.
There will be a viewing at Reese Funeral Home, 6767 Seminole Blvd., Seminole, FL. 33772 on Wednesday December 28, 2022 at 6:00pm with a wake service to follow at 7pm.
A funeral mass will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Church 1507 Trotter Rd, Largo, FL 33770 on Thursday December 29, 2022 at 11:00am to follow a graveside service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery 5233 118th Ave N, Clearwater, FL 33760 to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations can be made in Remo Malgieri's memory to the American Heart Association.
