Renée Susan Walker

Renée Susan Walker passed away, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, February 7th, 2023 after a nine year battle with cancer.

Renée was born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and is the oldest child of Paul and Shirley Lehman. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Huntington College in 1977. A resident of West Chester, Ohio since 1988, she was a devoted and loving wife and mother, a compassionate and open-hearted educator, and a generous friend. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and former students.

Among the various roles and job titles that she held throughout her career, the most meaningful to her was her work as an English as a Second Language Aide at Lakota West High School. As a testament to her influence, many of her students continued to be a part of her life long after their graduation. She also loved to create exquisite, handmade greeting cards, many of which she donated to churches and retirement homes, and received great satisfaction gardening and working in her flower beds.

Renée is survived by her husband of 43 years, Dennis Walker, their sons, Aaron Walker (partner of Davi Lakind) and Andrew Walker (partner of Natalie Presas), and Benis Nsiah, who Renée and Dennis consider their adopted daughter (wife of Clement Nsiah, mother of Renée Nsiah). She is also survived by her father Paul E. Lehman, her brother Mark Paul Lehman (husband of Kurt Davis), and her sister Yvette Prosser (wife of Brian Prosser, mother of Joshua and Sarah Prosser). Renée’s mother, Shirley Lehman, passed away in 2019.

A celebration of Renée’s life will be held on Saturday, March 4th, 2023 at Montgomery Community Church (11251 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45249) with a visitation at 10am and a service at 11:30am. A reception will immediately follow.
