Rena Mae Stapleton, 80, passed away February 19, 2025 at Stafford County Hospital, Stafford.
She was born August 22, 1944 in Great Bend, the daughter of Joseph Carl and Anna Magdeline Wendel Feist.
A lifetime area resident she was an LPN at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital and later worked in the kitchen at the Welcome Inn Senior Center. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Larned, enjoyed playing Bingo, watching KU basketball and Kansas City Chiefs football, crocheting, and knitting. She loved being a grandma and great grandma.
On June 3, 1967 she married Marion Dale "Jack" Stapleton at Kinsley; he preceded her in death on December 17, 2004.
Survivors include: three daughters, Vickie Jo (Wayne) Miller, St. John, Kimberly Ann (Tiff) Willinger, Ness City, Stephanie Sphaler, Porter, Texas; sister, Glenda Ditus, Fort Collins, Colorado; five grandchildren, Alex, Emily, Levi, Nicholas, Joseph; four great grandchildren, Peyton, Ryleigh, Kennedy and Keyleigh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Joseph Frank Feist, Marvin Feist, Melvin Feist; and sister, Elnora Schartz.
Memorial graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 28, 2025 at Larned Cemetery, with Father Anselm Eke, MSP presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned with family present from 5-7 p.m. Inurnment in Larned Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Great Grandchildren's Educational Fund (checks payable to Alex Stapleton) in care of Beckwith Mortuary, PO Box 477, Larned, Kansas 67550. Personal condolences may be left at www.beckwithmortuary.com.
