Renato Marcello Tommasini, age 88, of Flowood, MS passed away on August 13, 2024. Renato was born on January 1, 1936, in Rimini, Italy and was one of five children. He became a Master Craftsman in jewelry design in Italy before coming to the United States in 1964.
In 1979, Renato started Tommasini Jewelry Mfg. and Repair in Jackson, MS and continued until his retirement in 2015. He has touched thousands of families lives through his specialty handmade jewelry, creating cherished heirlooms for those families to pass down to future generations.
Renato was a very quiet and simple man. He was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. While he was never overtly religious, he had a strong faith and personal relationship with the Lord. His driving focus in everything that he did was always on his family. He was very proud of his wife, son, and his three grandchildren. Each knew how he felt about them as he always told them how proud he was of them and their accomplishments.
Renato is survived by his wife Evelyn Patterson Tommasini, their son Alton Joseph Tommasini, daughter-in-law Angela Weaver Tommasini, grandchildren Alyssa Tommasini, Adam Tommasini, and Austin Tommasini, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Renato was preceded in death by his parents Giuseppe Tommasini and Vittoria Boschian Tommasini, brothers Navio Tommasini and Lorenzo Tommasini, and sisters Alda Mazzotti and Rosetta Faini.
In keeping with Renato's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, if anyone would like to do so, he asked that a donation be made to the Mississippi Animal Rescue League in his memory, acknowledging his deep love of animals.
While we will miss him greatly, we are excited to see him move on to the next step in his journey with the Lord. He was constantly heard saying "Lord have mercy" and now, we ask for that mercy on his soul and all of us who remain behind. We wish him Godspeed and look forward to the day when we will be reunited with him.
Thank you for everything you did for me. I love you dad!
