Rene Francisco Barba

Rene Francisco "Cisco" Barba, age 40, passed away on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025, in his apartment in Albuquerque, NM. Rene was born on August 5th, 1985, to Yvonne Conklin and later adopted by David Conklin in Belen, New Mexico. Rene attended Sandia High School and later obtained a GED. He worked as a cook at many restaurants around Albuquerque for nearly 25 years. He recently became a cook at UNMH with the hopes of pursuing a degree. He enjoyed staying active by biking and walking around town whenever he could. He also loved to read and listen to audiobooks, especially while on his aforementioned walks.

Rene was a pillar of strength for everyone around him, and he will be remembered for his passion, thoughtfulness, and love for his family. His smile and laugh will live on through those whom he loved. He will be dearly missed.

Rene was preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne R. Conklin and father, David E. Conklin. Rene is survived by his son, Andrew Barba, and brother, David Conklin. He is also survived by his partner, Alyssa Trujillo; his aunt and many cousins. He has touched the lives of many friends as well and he will be remembered and cherished.

Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 28th at 3:00 pm at FRENCH- Lomas.
