Rene Rendon

Rene Rendon, 82, of Alvin, Texas, passed away on October 26, 2024. He was born on April 5, 1942, in Edcouch, Texas, to Gilberto Rendon and Elida Rivas.
Rene spent the first half of his life in South Texas before moving to the Alvin area, where he spent the remainder of his life. He was an owner-operator and agricultural truck driver, primarily throughout the state of Texas. In his younger days, he enjoyed roller skating (and even liked teaching others), going to drive-in movies, and dancing with his wife, Linda. He also loved teaching his children how to drive trucks.
Later in life, Rene enjoyed time in and around the house with family, spending time outside keeping the yard work in order and tinkering with Linda's little yellow truck. He made sure everyone knew they were welcome in his home and ensured they were always offered something to eat and drink, typically including a full tour of everything the kitchen had to offer. He was never shy about telling a story from his past, cracking a friendly joke, or telling you he would pay you a quarter when he gets paid on Friday.
Rene is survived by his wife, Linda (Gonzalez), and his six children: Ruben Rendon (partner Ian Abdon), Daisy Rosales (husband Gustavo Rosales), Edna Tamez, Irene Rendon, Leroy Rendon (wife Swati Rendon), and Rene Rendon Jr. (girlfriend Kathy Heredia), his two brothers; Ruben Rendon and Martin Rendon (wife Eva Rendon), and his nine grandchildren; Sefy, Joshua, Bianca, Brittanny, Linda Rene, Arlene, Zachary, Nicole, Kristi, and ten great-grandchildren.
Rene is preceded in death by his parents, Gilberto Rendon and Elida Rivas, and two sisters, Yolanda Rendon (Reyes) and Lydia Rendon (Garcia).
