Reta Alexander Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Charles R. Step Funeral Home - Redford on Mar. 30, 2024.
Reta Alexander, born on September 29th, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, peacefully passed away on March 27th, 2024, surrounded by love. She was the beloved daughter of Delbert and Dorothy Pierce. Reta was married to Glen Alexander for 35 years, and their bond was a testament to true love and commitment. She found solace and happiness in the companionship they shared. Reta was preceded in death by her dear sons Delbert and Dean.
Reta is survived by her loving daughter, Deana, who was a light in her life. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Erika (Craig) Koepke, Angela Alexander, Matthew Partrich, Alex (Aislynn) Partrich, and Kayla Partrich (Wade Natho). Her great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Carly, and Austin, brought immense joy to her life.
A vibrant member of the community, Reta Alexander was actively involved in various organizations. She was a member of the Redford Suburban League and a proud member of the Red Hat Society. Reta found joy in being part of these groups, forming lasting friendships and creating cherished memories. In her leisure time, Reta enjoyed her hobbies and interests, most notably, The Lunch Bunch. This gathering began in 1981 when the Redford Union Marching Band took a trip, and the mothers formed deep connections. Reta continued to meet with this special group monthly for lunch, fostering lifelong friendships. Her beloved dog, Buddy, was more than a pet; he was a cherished companion who brought her comfort and joy.
Known for her social nature, Reta was a beacon of light in the lives of many. She had a vast circle of friends in the Galilean Baptist Church, which she had been attending since 1958. She cherished her relationship with the Lord. Church meant everything to her, along with all of the genuine friendships she created with those who treasured her warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter. Her presence lit up any room she entered, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
Reta, with her generous spirit and unwavering love, touched the hearts of many and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She will forever be remembered and dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Rest in peace, dear Reta.
