Robert leaves cherished memories with his wife of 41 years, Virginia E. Speights; three sons, Alfonso Hurtado (Eveletta) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Nicholaus Lane of Marianna, Florida and Lennie Rodriguez (Justin) of Charlotte, North Carolina; one daughter, Carrie Rodriguez-Rutledge (Andrew) of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandsons; six granddaughters; two great-grandsons, two brothers, John Speights (Agnes) and Walter Speights (Ruth); four sisters, Emma Dildy, Mildred Holden (Clarence), Lucille Kirkland (Deek) and Lizzie Mae Davis (Mango, Sr.); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 11:00 am at Springfield AME Church where Reverend Hollis McClendon is Pastor and Reverend Isaac Williams is officiating. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Church Cemetery with Full military honors performed by the Fort Rucker Honor Guard and the Caring Staff of licensed professionals at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna directing.
