On Wednesday, March 25, at the age of 59, Loretta "Retta" Kay (Renville) Lineback passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and was welcomed to her heavenly home. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering strength, boundless compassion, and a faith that carried her through all things.
Loretta was born on November 28, 1966, in
Hoisington, Kansas, to Marilyn K. Renville and G. LaVerne Renville. She was the fourth of six children and from an early age, she moved to the rhythm of her own spirit; living her life with authenticity, never afraid to stand boldly in her own light.
Loretta shared over 40 years of love and friendship with her husband, Bruce G. Lineback. She was a proud and devoted mother to Kasondra "Kassie" Alfaro (Matthew) of Georgetown, Texas, and Elijah Lineback of
El Dorado, Kansas. Her children were the center of her world. She was always there to listen without judgment, to protect fiercely, and to love unconditionally. Alongside them, she also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Loki and Loka, who adored her.
Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to Easten, Taelor, Andrew, Alexavier, Sydney Alfaro, and Chayton and Easton Lineback. She rarely missed a game, meet, or milestone. She was always cheering from the sidelines, attending graduations, and traveling to Texas to spend time with her grandchildren and granddogs, Rocky, Remi, and Astro. She cherished capturing moments through photos and sharing stories of her grandchildren with anyone she met, her face always lighting up with pride, her love for them impossible to miss.
Loretta is also survived by her sisters, Teresa (Bert) Long, Denise (Sean) Lineback, Ramona Renville, and Kathryn (Rodney) Keithley, and her brother, Jason (Kati) Renville, along with countless nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who were all part of the family she cherished. Her love extended far beyond family; she was a second mom, a safe place, and a chosen family to so many.
She was reunited in heaven with her parents, Marilyn K. Renville and G. LaVerne Renville, her Uncle Donald Belcher, brother-in-law Laythan Day (L.D.) Vice, and her beloved nephew, Kaeleb Vice.
Loretta grew up helping in her mother's bakery and donut shop, where she developed a lifelong love for baking and caring for others. She also carried a lasting love for her Pittsburgh Steelers, nature and animals throughout her life, with turtles holding a very special place in her heart. Some of her most cherished memories were spent at Enemy Swim in South Dakota with her Grandpa Gibb, surrounded by family, laughter, and the outdoors, moments that stayed close to her heart throughout her life.
Loretta's life included many hardships, but she met them with incredible strength and grace. She chose to grow through everything life placed before her, turning her experiences into purpose. She had a heart that saw the good in everyone and, even in life's hardest moments, found hope and joy and helped others see it too. As a proud member of the recovery community, she became a mentor, a source of hope, and a guiding light for others in their darkest times. She shared her testimony and faith openly to help those who were struggling and to remind them they were never alone. She truly earned her "eternity coin," and her impact will live on in the countless lives she touched.
With a heart full of faith, she lived ready for the day Jesus would call her home. While our hearts are broken in her absence, we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace: dancing, singing, and fishing in heaven. We hold onto the promise that one day we will all be together again.
Loretta will be remembered for her strength, her laughter, her faith, and her ability to love people exactly as they were. Her life stood as a testament to grace, redemption, and the power of choosing love. She will be missed beyond measure and carried in our hearts forever.
Love You The Most.
