Reuben Francis Ramdass, age 86, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023, at Regency Jewish Heritage in Somerset, New Jersey. He was born on June 24, 1937, in Vessigny Village, La Brea, Trinidad and Tobago, to the late Adolphus and Popo Ramdass.
Reuben's educational journey led him to Presentation College in San Fernando, and his professional life was dedicated to Texaco Oil Company, where he served as a senior laboratory technician for many years. He was a proud member of the Christian Youth Organization, demonstrating his commitment to both faith and community.
Reuben had a passion for coin collecting and sports, particularly cricket. He cherished family outings and spent joyful moments on the beach, savoring life's simple pleasures. His infectious sense of humor brought laughter to those around him, as he shared countless jokes and stories. Reuben will be remembered for his warm heart, laughter, and enduring love for his family and friends.
Reuben is survived by his beloved wife, Sheila, and their children: Karen Anne Mohammad and her husband, Patrick; Nadia Julianna Ramdass; Reuben Francis Ramdass Jr.; and Daren Paul Ramdass and his wife, Jessica. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his six cherished grandchildren: Gabrielle, Matthew, Joshua, Ryan, Cade, and Zackery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Katie Lewis, and his brother Ivan Ramdass.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 08873, on Sunday, September 10th, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service in celebration of Reuben's life will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Cremation services will be held privately, under the compassionate care of the Gleason Funeral Home.
