Rev. Bobby Grey Freeman, age 89, passed away on Sunday, November 12, at 10:00 AM at his home in Mt. Gilead.
His family will receive friends at First Wesleyan Church of Troy, 1368 NC Highway 134N, Troy, NC on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM. A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM with Dr. Ed Lindsey and Rev. David Beck officiating and remarks by Sheriff Pete Herron.. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Bobby was 10 months old when his father, Curtis O. Freeman died. His mother, Lucille L. Brown, 7 years later, married his stepfather, J. Calvin Brown. Following 2 years of Military Service in the Army, Rev. Freeman graduated from Southern Pilgrim College and served as a faithful Pastor for the next 54 years in the Wesleyan Church.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Patsy Ingold Freeman of 67 years; one son Timothy Grey Freeman and wife Denise; one daughter Martha Freeman Lalor and husband Adrian; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4615 Dundas Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407, or to First Wesleyan Church of Troy, 1368 NC Hwy. 134N, Troy, NC 27371.
