JSP was our Pastor when I was a busy young mother and prayer was very hard for me. I would start to pray and quickly be thinking about chores instead. He told me he was working at praying all through his day. He changed the way I pray. I am very grateful and have thought of him often through the years. I actually was sitting down to write hime a thank you note when I found this page. Thank you Dr Park - sorry I was too late to tell you in this life.

I am so grateful my children got to know Rex. Park as the youth minister at First Presbyterian Church. His fables to the children, gathered at his feet once a month for story time, were insightful to the congregation as well as entertaining to the young ones. It was heartwarming to see him interact and respond to their comments and interruptions, always with love and humor. He acknowledged the youth as unique and competent individuals, never talking down to them. His leadership at work camp inspired the young teens, with many returning each year. Years later, he graciously traveled to Chicago to officiate my son's wedding. Rev. JSP will remain in the hearts of the Harris family. He made an indelible impression on the lives of my three children: Justin, Hollie and Megan.

John Stephen married us 37 yrs ago, he was always pleasant to be around and always had a smile for everyone. The congregation truly loved him and his sermons. It was a great loss for us when he left the church. Rest in peace John Stephen, you are home, but will be greatly missed by those of us who had the pleasure of getting to know you.
