Rev. Jerry Olin Greer, age 80, of Tifton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on October 6, 2025. He was born on June 24, 1945, in Maryville, Tennessee, to Lewis and Ada Petty Greer, who have preceded him in death.
His family invites those who wish to honor his memory to attend the visitation on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Albritton Funeral Directors, located at 1020 Tift Ave N, Tifton, GA, 31794. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Carpenter Road Church of God, located at 40 Carpenter Road N, Tifton, GA, 31793 with Rev. Jim West, Rev. Brock Taylor and Rev. Johnny Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens with Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating at graveside.
Korey Greer, Troy Taylor, Garrett Taylor, Bryce Greer, Adron Ingle and Justin Hersey will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his care givers from Traditions Hospice, Amedisys Home Health Care and any Church of God Ministers, The Greer’s Church of God Campground neighbors, Bobby and Sue Kirkland, Jennifer Plair and her health caregivers.
Rev. Greer dedicated his life to the ministry as a Church of God Minister. The Church of God churches he pastored over the years include, Banning, Louisville, Nashville, Swainsboro Eastwood, Screven, Charleston Mississippi, West Green, Coolidge, Piney Grove, Blanton Grove, Hazelhurst, Warner Robins Southside and Valdosta Forrest Street. He was a devoted member of the Carpenter Road Church of God in Tifton, where he shared his love for the Lord and his passion for ministry with numerous congregants. He earned an Associate's degree from East Georgia College and received several Theological Ministerial certificates throughout his life, underscoring his commitment to serving his faith.
Rev. Greer cherished his family, leaving behind his beloved wife, Lois Edna Watkins Greer, with whom he celebrated sixty wonderful years of marriage. He is also survived by four children: Nathan and Deirdre Greer, Alita and Robbie Kinard, Sheri and Johnny Taylor, and Olin and Stacia Greer, his grandchildren: Kelsey and Justin Hersey, Korey and Emily Greer, Tori Kinard, Ryan Kinard, Troy and Caitlyn Taylor, Brock and Emily Taylor, Garrett Taylor, Sarah Taylor, Bryce Greer, Abby and Adron Ingle, Lexy Greer, and Tyler Greer, his great grandchildren, Bentlee Taylor, Kaislee Taylor, Bethany Greer, and Blakely Greer, his brother and sister-in-law, Buren Greer and Robin, a very special friend of the family, Mary Frances Archer “Beaver,” who held a place in his heart like a daughter. Along with his dog “Olaf”.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Greer; his mother, Ada Petty Greer; grandson, Kaden Greer; brothers Louie Greer and Johnny Greer; and sisters Lovella Cochran, Rowena Dunbar, Jessie Lou Newman, and Sheleita Greer.
Rev. Greer was known for his humble yet profound faith, his enjoyment of fishing and woodworking, and the meticulous care he took in his gardens and yard work. Rev. Greer gentle spirit and vibrant personality left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Rev. Jerry O. Greer will be remembered as a dedicated minister, devoted family man, and an inspiration to many. His legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.
