Reverend Robert "Bob" G. Long, 92, of DeGraff, passed away peacefully at 10:05 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at his home. He was born in Richwood, Ohio on January 15, 1932, a son of the late John Homer Long and Addie Mae (Eckerd) Long.
On May 21, 1950, Bob married Wanda Mae (Riley) Long in Marion, Ohio and she preceded him in death on December 16, 1995. He was also preceded in death by a son, Daniel Long; a daughter-in-law, Rita Long; three sisters, Eva Eckerd, Pearl (Gerald) Milligan, and Dorothy (Ed) Dotson; and four brothers, Carlos, Gerald (Ruth), Dwight, and Larry.
Bob married Joanne (Davis) Long on May 1, 1999, in Rosewood, Ohio, and she survives, along with Bob and Wanda’s three children, Dennis Long, Douglas Long, and Donna L. (John) Volk; a daughter-in-law, Gert Long; six grandchildren, Keith (Beth) Long, Nicholas (Amanda) Long, Audrey Long, Jill (Brett) Jones, Wesley (Jessica) Gall, and Rob (Jenn Ballenger) Gall; 13 great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, June Long.
Bob had worked as the head storekeeper at Erie Lackawanna Railroad and was an ordained minister with the Church of Christ in Christian Union. He loved attending church camp meetings as well as serving as a board member of the CCCU and various general and district offices. In his leisure time, Bob enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and trains.
A visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff and from 12-1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Church of Christ in Christian Union, 1709 Bellefontaine Avenue in Marion. Pastors Chris Newland and Warren Goble will officiate a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery in Marion, Ohio.
