Rev. Robert Michael Walney, also known as, Robert Eschelbacher, 86, of Greenock, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025. He was born May 8, 1939, and was the son of the late Edward and Pearl Eschelbacher. He was the loving husband of 39 years to the late Rev. Ruth Walney, who passed away on May, 8 2001. He was a 1958 graduate of Clairton High School. Pastor Bob touched the hearts and lives of many people during his 6 decades of ministry at Prayer Time Cathedral, alongside his wife. He loved traveling to Maui frequently, where he had made many close friends, throughout the years. He is survived by his sisters, Sylvia Dillon of McKeesport and Norma Hennle of Ohio; nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Dorothy Opfar, Edward Eschelbacher and Ronald Eschelbacher. Friends will be received Friday, June 6, 2025 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Prayer Time Cathedral, 2943 Jacks Run Road (Route 48) in White Oak, McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Another viewing will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025 from 10-11 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM with Rev. Emerson Williams Jr., Bishop George and Rev. Ruth Muroki officiating. Private burial will be held at Round Hill Cemetery. In leiu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Prayer Time Cathedral PO Box 86, Boston PA 15135.
