Betsy Piper, 75, of Buena Vista, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 11, 1950 in McKeesport and was raised in Elizabeth Boro. She was the daughter of the late William "Bill" and Rose (Fusco) Stockdill. Betsy worked for many years at Jefferson Hospital and retired as a unit clerk in the short stay unit. She loved to do crossword puzzles and could complete a New York Times puzzle with ease, she also enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles. She was an avid reader, who enjoyed fiction literature and was a lover of music, especially David Bowie, Steely Dan and Prince. Betsy loved to swim anywhere she could, especially her daughter, Amanda's Pool. She was the love of her husband, Bill's life and didn't suffer fools gladly. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, William B. "Bill" Piper; children, Amanda (the late Pan) Diamantis; Ian (Alyse) Piper, and Megan (Daniel) Miller; step-sons, Shawn (Lori) Piper and Eric (Donna) Piper; grandchildren, Evan and Ethan Piper, Isabella Diamantis, Olivia, Ella, and Owen Piper, Daniel Miller and Caleb Piper; step-grandchildren, Collin, Morgan, Braydon, and Brookelyn McPherson, and Allanah and Brayden Finnegan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister. Carole (the late Bob) Haywood. Per Betsy's wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
