I think of him so often especially at Mass. His were always so beautiful and meaningful. I will always carry him in my heart and I'll never forget all the times he visited my sister Barbara while she was in the hospital fighting pancreatic cancer.

So often I've wanted to share something with Neil especially the loss of our third daughter Kim. He knew them all. His laugh always reached any one within earshot and we couldn't help but smile. My angels are lucky to have you with them. My heart hurts but one day I'll join you too.
Heartfelt prayers to our family.

We had lost touch with Fr. Neil over recent years, but 27 years ago today he married us. I had met him soon out of college at St. Anns in Somerville, where I was motivated by him to be an active participant. He remained a friend for many years. Such a special and spiritual man who had a gift of reaching all, but especially young people. We know he rests in peace with the angels. Thank you for being a part of our lives.

We are in shock at learning of the loss of our dear and loved friend Neil. We were out of the country for several months and tried calling him. Sadly we heard the news from Regina Cleri. We first met Fr Neil when we lived in Natick and he became a very important person in our lives. He was always there at important events such as our 50th wedding anniversary where he renewed our vows. He gave us support and strength when we lost our youngest daughter Jill who also loved him dearly. We last saw him in Boston and shared a meal with him as we always did when we made a visit "home" to Massachusetts. My heart is heavy. He will always hold a special place in our memories.

Ed and family. I am so sad to hear about Neil. Was hoping to see him again at lunch with "the girls" on one of my trips home. I did talk to him before I moved to Colorado. One of the great things in connecting with people you grew up with is that you can pick up right where you left off. He still had that great laugh and sense of humor he had as a kid and from reading the condolences he was a wonderful priest. RIP Neil. Peace to the family.

We feel so blessed to have had Father Mullaney perform our marriage ceremony 26 years ago! He did such a great job that my sister Michele Nardella and my sister in law had him celebrate both of their weddings! He also presided over a beautiful celebration mass for my mother . It was such a sad day when he left Saint Patrick's in Natick. Father Mullaney will always be in our hearts...

Fr. Neil was truly special. I consider him to be one of the most influential people in my life. As a member of Our Lady of Mercy parish Fr. Neil became connected with the Callen family for life. He has been there for our faith journey in both good times and bad. He baptized one of our children and several of our nieces and nephews. In times of loss he has presided eloquently at funerals for my sister and 2 brothers. Such a joyous legacy he leaves --- having touched the lives of hundreds in a positive manner.
Rest in peace, until we meet again.

I graduated from St. Mary's, Brookline with Neil. I have thought of him many times over the years because he was such a nice kind person to know. Was not surprised that he entered the priesthood. I would love to be at his funeral if the distance wasn't so great. Condolences to his family and I pray he didn't suffer too much from his illness.
