Rex Mobley

Rex Mobley 1964 - 2021 Dallas – Rex Arnold Mobley, 57, passed away tragically on June 12, 2021, in Mecklenburg County. The family has comfort in knowing that Rex is with our Heavenly Father. He was born in Gaston County on January 15, 1964, to Terry and Patricia Austin Mobley. He was a native of Dallas, NC where he grew up. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. Rex was a dedicated family man; loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed attending gun shows, fishing, hunting, and he loved animals of all kinds; cars, and having bonfires. He was an avid Raiders football fan and loved to have fun. Rex worked at Republic Service in Charlotte. Left to cherish his memories are his parents, Terry and Pat Mobley; his wife of 20 years, Susan Payne Mobley; his three wonderful children, Jennifer Lawson (D.J. Anderson), Alyssa Sisk (Michael), and Caleb Mobley; the apple of his eyes were his grandchildren, Olivia Lawson, Braxton Hughes, and Paizley Sisk; a brother, Ty Mobley (Theresa); sisters, Rita Lingafelt (David) and Lisa Thrams (David); along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 18th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Leroy Mobley officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hr prior to the service. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glenn and Lora Mobley and C.E. (Pop), and Frances Austin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Schiele Museum of Natural History and Planetarium.
