Rex Arlin Salling was born in Akron, Colorado on March 24, 1952. Rex passed peacefully in his sleep at his home on March 22, 2025.
Rex was born in Akron, CO to Don and Wilma Salling on March 24, 1952. He spent his childhood in Ulysses, Kansas where he helped his family on the farm. In his teen years his family moved to Stratton, Colorado. Rex graduated from Stratton High School in 1970.
In June of 1970 Rex married Deborah Davis and in 1971 their son, Christopher Wade Salling, was born in Hugo, Colorado.
In May 1976 Rex married Marquema (Kim) Warren and to this union was born Levi Star Salling in 1985.The family moved to Stratton, CO in 1994 where he spent the remainder of his life.
Rex and Kim were happily married for 48 years. He was an incredibly hard worker. When he was not working, he could be found remodeling or improving the house and yard, or tinkering on his motorcycle and cars. He was a quiet man, but loved to talk about classic rock music, especially Pink Floyd. Rex loved his children and grandchildren. He would attend every function that he could to watch his grandchildren. Rex's favorite pass time was to watch his grandchildren play baseball.
Rex is survived by his wife Marquema Warren, son Christopher (Stacy) Salling, and daughter Levi (Casey) Pace, grandchildren Tianna Bass, Grady Steerman, Owen Pace, and Harlow Pace, sister Donna Kaiser and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Rex is proceeded in death by his parents Don and Wilma; brother Darrell; sister Marla and many other friends and family members.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday March 29, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Claremont Cemetery in Stratton, CO with a reception following at the Stratton Legion.
