Rex A. Williams

Goldsboro - Rex Allen Williams, 50, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at his home. Rex was born in Wayne County on July 11, 1961 to Myrtle Whitman Williams and the late James Ezra Williams. He volunteered for many years at Mar Mac Fire Department and always enjoyed the opportunity to go camping, fishing and motorcycle riding. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. At other times the family will be at 105 Rhonda Place, Goldsboro. Rex is survived by his wife, Danita Lanier Williams of three years; his children, Trish Furrin and husband John of Pennsylvania, Rex Williams Jr. of Arizona, Gary Williams of Goldsboro, Austin James Williams of Goldsboro, Chellie Williams of Goldsboro and his four grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Ann Menley and husband John; his brother-in-law, Robert J. Lanier and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Allen Williams. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to Surf City Parks and Recreation at 201 Community Center Drive, Surf City, NC 28445.
