Reyes Atilano, 45, a resident of Round Lake, IL, passed away June 6, 2025, in Chicago, IL. He was born on December 26, 1979, in Evanston, IL to Reyes Atilano and Maricela Ortiz.
Reyes will be remembered for his boundless warmth, infectious laughter, and the genuine love he shared with everyone around him. He had a gift for making people feel seen and valued, effortlessly turning strangers into friends. His outgoing spirit brought joy into every room he entered, and his compassion touched countless lives. Rey's presence was a bright light, and he leaves behind cherished memories that will be held in the hearts of all who knew him.
Reyes is survived by his mother Maricela (Jose Gonzalez) Ortiz, his father Reyes Atilano, his grandparents Jovita Acosta and Baldomero Ortiz, his siblings Monica Cano and Sergio Atilano, and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A visitation is scheduled for Monday June 16, 2025, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday June 17, 2025, at Grace Community Church 1001 E. Grand Ave. Lake Villa, IL 60046 at 10:00am.
