Funeral Mass for Rhea Faye Couvillion of Simmesport will begin at 1:00pm on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Simmesport. Burial will follow at the Christ the King Catholic Cemetery in Simmesport.
Rhea F. Couvillion, age 76, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, at Bayou Chateau Nursing Home in Simmesport. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a beautiful seamstress and could sew anything. She was a devout Catholic and taught CCD for many years. She loved watching NASCAR races.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 54 years, Terrel Couvillion; daughters, Regina Couvillion Novo (Randy) of Lafayette and Rebecca Couvillion Coco (Martin) of Simmesport; grandchildren, Jordan Novo, Reagen Bordelon (Sarah), Alyssa Bordelon; siblings, Paul Couvillion (Kathy) of Moreauville, Rachel (Kat) Dufour of Plaucheville, Carole Rachal of Gonzales; Cheryl Rouse of Simmesport; Pamela Couvillion of Simmesport. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers: Jordan Novo, Randy Novo, Martin Coco, Kalan Couvillion, Robbin Dufour, Farrel Scallan; the crossbearer will be Lydia Scallan.
She was preceded by her parents, Alonzo and Elphia Vead Couvillion; siblings, Reginald Couvillion, Michael Couvillion, Larry Couvillion, Sharon Couvillion, and Patti Couvillion.
Visitation will begin at 9:00am until 12:00pm on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Escude Funeral Home in Simmesport. Rosary prayer will begin at 12:00pm on Friday, September 6, 2024.
The family would like to thank the staff of Bayou Chateau Nursing Home and Compassionate Care Hospice for their wonderful care of Rhea.
