It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rhoda Killick, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, who passed away peacefully in Melbourne, Florida at the age of 89, surrounded by love.
Born and raised in the Bronx, New York City, she was a first generation American and the daughter of Eastern European immigrants. Rhoda continued the resilience, traditions and vibrant spirit of her parents throughout her life. Sixty-two years ago she, and husband Larry, made the brave decision to move to Cocoa, Florida, where they started a family and built a beautiful life filled with warmth, new friends and unforgettable memories.
Rhoda was the proud and devoted mother of four children, whom she raised with unwavering love, wisdom, and strength. She was also a cherished grandmother to six grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable pride and joy. Her family was the center of her world, and she gave selflessly to ensure their happiness and success.
After 16 years of marriage and raising kids, Rhoda decided to start a career in software quality control in support of the growing space industry at the Kennedy Space Center. Over her 32 year career she worked for Rockwell, Lockheed and United Space Alliance. She loved her work at the space center and during her time there many of her business colleagues became lifelong friends.
Rhoda also had a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures - shopping at T.J. Maxx, a good book, family gatherings filled with laughter, and getting a suntan while sitting at the beach or pool. Her home was always open, her heart always full, and her kindness touched everyone who knew her.
She will be remembered for her sharp wit, not sugar coating her thoughts, her boundless generosity, and the way she made everyone feel seen and heard. She was fond of her make-up, clothes styles and always being coiffed and well put together before ever leaving the house.
Rhoda is preceded in death by her husband Larry, and is survived by her four children, Alan (Holly), Debra, Tom (Kiki), and Barrett (Heather) as well as her six grandchildren, Leighton, Ariel, Aiden, Brody, Joelle and Kyson.
A Celebration of Life in her honor will be held with food and drink to express condolences with the Killick family on Saturday June 21st from 12-4pm. Please come by anytime during those hours at 1503 Vestavia Circle, Melbourne, FL 32940. In lieu of flowers or money to a charity, the family asks that you donate a great story about Rhoda to share with her kids and grandchildren on Saturday, over the phone or in writing.
When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure. Her light will never dim in the hearts of those who loved her.

Beautiful gathering today in her memory today and she surely loved seeing her children and grands wrapped in the warmth of so many friends. Both she and Patriarch Larry are beaming together with love and pride at the legacy they built and gifted to this world.
