In Loving Memory of Rhonda Loy (Chamberlain) Barker October 31, 1949 – April 8, 2025

Rhonda Loy Barker passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Savior on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 75. She was born on Halloween in 1949, a day fitting for someone who would go on to light up every room with laughter and love.

Born to the late Betty Loy (Cook) Chamberlain and Olan Alfred Chamberlain, Rhonda was a beacon of strength, warmth, and compassion from the start. She lived her life in Fort Worth and lived it well — full of music, joy, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.

To know Rhonda was to feel seen, heard, and deeply cared for. She had a way of making people feel safe — whether you needed advice, a shoulder to cry on, or just someone to laugh with, she was always there. Rhonda spent 30 years working in Telecommunications at Lucent before retiring, but retirement was just the beginning of a new chapter for her. She remained active — working at Walmart, Home Depot, and volunteering at the Salvation Army. But perhaps her most meaningful “job” was the one she never clocked out of: caring for her aging mother, aunt, and uncles with quiet strength and deep love.

Rhonda was a longtime member of Riverside Baptist Church, where she joyfully served at Pre-Teen Camps, helping guide and love on the next generation. She loved the Lord, and it showed — in her voice when she sang, in her art, in her patience, and in her kindness.

And what a voice she had. Rhonda was a gifted singer and a former member of the Texas Women’s Traditional Chorus. She could also pick up a pencil or paintbrush and create something beautiful, making her not only a talented vocalist but a truly amazing artist.

Rhonda loved her Beatles records, and she had a quirky love for all things frog-related — little green reminders of her playful spirit. She was the life of the party, the one who could turn any moment into a memory, always making people laugh, always bringing joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Ronald Barker, and her nephew Christopher Van Natta.

Left to carry her legacy are her daughters: Amber Pool and husband James of Burleson, and Lauren White and husband Gabriel of Fort Worth. Her grandchildren — Addison, Ayden, Dalton, Gabriel “Chubby” Jr., Devin, Alisa, and Dejha — will forever miss their “Mimi,” the heart of every family gathering. She is also survived by her sisters, Katie Hargrove and husband Jim of White Settlement, and Dollie Garcia of Fort Worth; her nieces and nephews: Alison, Chase, Danlya, Nolan, Jessica, and Jordan; and countless great-nieces, great-nephews, cherished friends, and her church family.

Rhonda was the definition of love, patience, and kindness. She was the best mother, wife, aunt, Mimi, and friend you could ask for. She taught us how to care for others, how to laugh through hard times, and how to live with purpose and grace.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Williams and Lucas Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 13, 2025, also at Williams and Lucas Funeral Home, 517 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111.

Rhonda’s legacy will live on in the lives she touched — and there were so many. We will miss her deeply, love her always, and carry her memory with us in everything we do.
