Rhonda St. Germain Richard, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, December 25, 2025. She was born on July 8, 1958, in Franklin, Louisiana. Rhonda brought joy and warmth to the lives of many, exemplifying a spirit of care and compassion throughout her lifetime.

Funeral services for Rhonda Richard will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas. Father Clint Trahan will conduct the service. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.

Visitation will begin on Monday, December 29, 2025, in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 11:00 a.m. by Wayne Reiners.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Monte, Bryan Monte, Brent Prados, Michael A. Prados, Brandon Burns and Neal Boudreaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Prados and Michael P. Prados.

Rhonda was known for her unwavering love for her family. She cherished her role as a mother and took great pride in raising her children, Aaron Richard (Aric) and Brandi Marks. Her nurturing nature extended to her extended family, always ensuring that those around her felt supported and loved. She is survived by her father, Gene St. Germain; her sisters, Bonnie Prados (Michael) and Wendy Monte (Bryan); her sister-in-law, Cheryl Schlomer; her niece, Megan Burns (Brandon) and her nephews, Hunter Monte, Brent Prados (Tori), Michael Prados (Amanda) and Blake Prados. She is also survived by her great-nieces, Mae Burns, Maggie Burns, Emma Burns, Ellison Burns; and her great-nephews, Zane Prados, Levi Prados, Beau Prados, Chase Prados and Noah Wilson.

In addition to her family, Rhonda's legacy includes her passion for life. She worked for over 20 years at Park Vista Elementary as a special education paraprofessional. Also, Rhonda was an avid LSU football fan and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved working in her flower bed and enjoyed decorating for holidays, spreading cheer and festivity during special occasions.

While Rhonda leaves behind many cherished memories, she is preceded in death by her husband, David Richard; her mother, Lucille "Pookie" St. Germain; her son-in-law, Brad Marks; her sister, Mary Lee St. Germain; her brother-in-law, Eddie Schlomer; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Aaron and Versie Richard.

As her family and friends reflect on the beautiful memories shared, they take comfort in knowing that Rhonda's love will continue to shine brightly in their lives. Her enduring spirit will always be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be dearly missed but forever cherished in their hearts.
