Ria G. Levidy, long-time resident of Fayetteville, New York passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, at age 100 after a long and fulfilling life.
Ria is survived by her son, Nicholas Levidy (Margaret ) of Westfield, New Jersey and Honesdale, Pennsylvania, and her daughter, Evelynn Adams (Charles) of Granby, Colorado, as well as her grandchildren, John Levidy (Marisa), Michael Levidy (Laura), Paul Adams (Jacque), Corinne Henak (Zachary), and seven lively great grandchildren – Nicholas, Madeline, Linden, Reese, Ezekiel, Obadiah, and Eriketa. Her husband of many years, John Levidy, preceded her in death in 2011.
Ria was born in Carthage, New York and spent her childhood in Oswego, New York before attending Syracuse University where she graduated with a BA degree. While in college, she met her husband and married in 1950, settling in Fayetteville for most of her adult life. She also worked for years as an interior design consultant.
Through the years, Ria was highly engaged in all aspects of her life. Her interests included gardening, golf, needlework, cooking, baking, and puzzles and games of all kinds. She also served as Pi Beta Phi/Alpha house corporation chair for many years. She absolutely adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed twelve years in Golden, Colorado with her daughter's family after her husband John passed away and returned to Upstate New York in 2022. For the last four years, Ria was a resident at The Nottingham in Jamesville, New York.
Calling hours will take place from 10:30am to 12:00pm followed by a brief service at 12:00 on January 21 st at the Eaton-Tubbs Fayetteville Chapel Funeral Home, located at 7191 East Genesee St., Fayetteville, New York.
