Ricardo "Richard" Cruz Ramirez, 76, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. He was born on February 12, 1949, in Mexico, to Julio Cruz and Aracelia Ramirez.

He is survived by his mother, Aracelia Ramirez, his wife, Maria M. Aguilar, his sons, Julio Cruz, Carlos Araiza, and Colby Cruz, his daughters, Rebecca Cruz, and Raquel Cruz Davila, his brothers, Gerardo Cruz, Jose Cruz, Julio Cruz, and Eliasar Cruz, his sisters, Estella Perez, Maria Laird, and Sylvia Rutiaga, by 10 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Julio Cruz and his son, Ricardo Cruz Jr.

Honored to service as pallbearers are Julio Cruz, Eric Cruz, Carlos Araiza, Rey Herrera, Roger Abreu, and Michael Martinez.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Good Shepherd Funeral Home. Interment will follow to his final place of rest at the Raymondville Memorial Park Cemetery where he will receive his full military honors.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the caring hands of Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 1157 W. Hidalgo Ave., Raymondville, Texas 78580.
