Candler- Ricardo Gonzales Mendez,59, born on July 23, 1966, in El Salvador, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, at Elizabeth House.

For more than 20 years, Ricardo dedicated his career to Ingles Warehouse, where he served as a forklift operator in the stock department. His commitment to his work was matched only by his commitment to his family and friends. Ricardo had a huge heart, always caring for others and readily lending a helping hand to those in need. He was not only admired at work but also a role model to many in his community, where friends often sought his advice, valuing his wisdom and compassion.

Ricardo was deeply involved in his church, where he devoted much of his time to helping and supporting others. His passion for service extended into his personal life, where he found joy in cooking delicious dishes for his family and friends, and working on his vehicles.

He leaves behind his loving daughters, Diana Gonzalez Mestanza and Damaris Mendez, and his son, Ricardo Mestanza Mendez. Ricardo is also survived by his sisters, Gloria Marisol Mendez Gonzales and Silvia Dinora Gonzales de Alvardo, and his ex-wife, Maria Del Carmen Mestanza Cortez. He was a proud grandfather to Elena Gonzales, Pablo Argueta' Gonzales, Sophia Gonzales, and Yonell Ambroico Gonzales.

Ricardo was preceded in death by his father, Mario Alberto Mendez, and his mother, Blanca Gloria Gonzales Delcon Mendez.

A visitation will be held on November 21, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM, both at the Chapel of Faith at Forest Lawn Memorial Park located at 1 Chapel of Faith Drive, Candler, NC. A burial service will follow from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Ricardo Gonzales-Mendez will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, love for his family, and the compassion he showed to all. His legacy will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

The family of Ricardo Ernesto Gonzalez Mendez has entrusted Wells Funeral Home of Candler with his care.
