God has called his Faithful, Humble, Hardworking, Funny, and Loving son, Ricardo Martinez, to his Everlasting Home in Heaven at the age of 69. He was born in Laredo, Texas, on May 13, 1956, to Amazing Loving Parents Father, Joaquin Romero and Mother, Lucila Martinez.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joaquin Romero, his brother, Jose Manuel Martinez, grandparents, Aurora and Alberto Gutierrez.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his Beloved wife of 50 years, Diana Martinez; his children, Ricardo (Diana) Martinez Jr., Robert Joaquin (Elizabeth) Martinez, Ruby Michelle Martinez, and Rodolfo Adan Martinez; and his Grandchildren, Cassandra Raquel Martinez, Carolina Rubi Martinez, Carina Rebecca Martinez, Clarita Renee Martinez, Uriel Ortiz Martinez, Kimberly Marie (Marcos Rendon) Martinez, Kayla Michelle Martinez, Kaycie Marin Martinez, Robert Joaquin Martinez Jr., Rodolfo Adan Martinez Jr., and Ryan Dianndre Haynes. He is also survived by his mother, Lucila Martinez; his sisters, Bertha Perez (Adan), Lucy Gonzalez (Armando+), and Rosalinda Martinez, Sister-in-law, Bernice Martinez; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
The family will receive condolences on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 5 to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals and Cremations, where a Vigil for the Deceased and Rosary will be offered at 7 pm.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 7 am until 9 am to depart to San Martin de Porres Catholic Church, where a funeral Mass will take place at 9:30 am.
Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Laredo City Cemetery.
