Ricardo A. Palacio

Ricardo "Ricky" Abrigo Palacio, age 64, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, in his home in Congers, New York.

Ricky was born on December 18, 1961, to Javier Palacio and Imelda Abrigo Palacio.

Ricky graduated from Letran College, Manila, in 1978. Thereafter, he married his high school sweetheart, Melisa Abordo, in 1986. That same year, Ricky journeyed to the United States, settled in New York, and started a family. Though far from the Philippines, his family remained deeply rooted in his heart. He remained a loving and thoughtful son, never short of sharing his blessings with his parents. He later became a parent himself and was blessed with two wonderful children, Rica and Ricky. He was a dedicated husband to his wife, a loving and supportive father to his children, a devoted grandfather, a thoughtful brother, and a lighthearted uncle.

He was a highly valued employee in the mortgage industry, receiving multiple recognitions for his accomplishments. Outside of work, he enjoyed hiking, taking cruises, and traveling. From a young age, he had a love for basketball. He was a highly generous man, always looking to treat his family to a good meal at his favorite restaurants. He filled his homes with music, playing jazz and his favorite artists on his portable speaker that he traveled with between his homes in Congers and Delaware. He was hardworking, taking great pride and effort in caring for his homes, especially the gardens and lawns. You could often find him sitting at the steps of the doors to his backyard of both his properties, sitting in peace and admiring his land and work.

Ricky is survived by his wife Melisa, children Rica and Ricky, son-in-law Phoroger Keo, grandchildren Ignatius and Izalea, and his siblings Roberto, Rebecca, Raquel, and Rowena.

He is predeceased by his grandfather, Javier Palacio Sr., grandmother, Esperanza Ornedo Palacio, and his parents.

Visitation will be held at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home in West Nyack, NY on March 29, 2026 from 1:00 - 6:00 PM. The funeral mass will take place at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Congers, NY on March 30, 2026 at 10:00 AM
