In Loving Memory of Ricardo B. Ramirez 12/04/1949 - 10/31/2025
Ricardo Ramirez was born on December 4, 1949, in Lamesa, Texas. He passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025.
A proud Vietnam Veteran who served with distinction in the 101st Airborne Division, the screaming Eagles. As decorated combat veteran, he received the following medals: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal and The Cross of Gallantry Medal with Bronze Star.
Ricardo was a hero, not just on the battlefield but also at home, a wonderful man with many stories, deep compassion, quiet courage, and unconditional love. He had the biggest heart, always willing to help as a father or lend a helping hand to anyone who needed him. He enjoyed eating, music, karaoke, and antique shopping and was a movie collector. He spent his life-giving love, guidance, and strength to generations of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dad, you will be missed. You are gone but will not be forgotten.
Visitation will be held at :Watershed Church 9315 Broadway San Antonio, Texas 78217 on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Interment to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery 1520 Harry Wurzbach, San Antonio, Texas 78209Shelter Number 3.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Ramirez and Carmen Benetiz; sister Mary Lou Cabello, stepdaughter Andrea Adriano.
He is survived by, his sons Richard, James, David and Adam Ramirez, stepson Adrain Adraino Jr, stepdaughter Jackie Quintero. His grandchildren, great grandchildren, numerous extended family and friends.
