Richard E. Agajanian

Richard E. Agajanian husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Wednesday May 22, 2024, at the age of 72.
Rick was a man of many interests. He was known for his sharp intellect and his fun-loving spirit. A committed Scout leader and baseball coach, he mentored his own children and countless others, instilling in them values of integrity, respect, and a love for the great outdoors. As a member of the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS), he was passionate about the camaraderie and skill involved in cowboy action shooting.
Rick's creativity shined through his work as a writer, newspaper editor and photographer. He started his career with the Providence Visitor and the Warwick Beacon. He spent most of his time at the Worcester Telegram where he also served as President of the Providence Newspaper Guild. He was an avid tech enthusiast and loved his gadgets embracing new and old technology.
Above all, Rick was a devoted family man. He shared 52 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Gail F. (Harrington) Agajanian. Together, they raised three loving children: Andrea L. Agajanian (Robert L. Shields), Richard E. Agajanian and firefighter Jonathan F. Agajanian WFD (Danielle). Rick's grandchildren, Sarah, Chelsea, Natalie and Zoey whom he adored, will fondly remember their grandfather's playful spirit and the fun-filled adventures they shared.
Rick will be remembered for his love of music and playing his guitars. His kindness, wisdom, and infectious sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024 from 4-6pm with a service at 6pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Memorial contributions to Robert J. Allen Medical Equipment Distribution Center, 222 Taunton Ave., East Providence, RI 02914 would be appreciated.
