Richard B. Althouse, of East Rockhill Twp., PA, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital – Grand View Campus, Sellersville, PA. He was 84.

He was the loving husband of Evelyn M. (Effrig) Althouse. The couple had celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary on September 7, 2025.

Born in Sellersville, PA, he was the son of the late James and Eva (Durn) Althouse. He was a 1959 graduate of Pennridge High School, Perkasie, PA.

Mr. Althouse worked in maintenance for Draeger Medical, Inc., Telford, PA, for over 13 years until retiring in 2006. Previously, he was employed by the former American Olean Tile Co., Lansdale, PA.

He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Quakertown, PA, where he served as the Property Committee Chairman and volunteered with various church projects over the years.

Creative by nature, Mr. Althouse was talented with fabricating and fixing items. He especially enjoyed trips to Toms River, NJ where he sailed on his sailboat and winter trips with his wife to Cape May. He also enjoyed camping with family and friends throughout the state of PA. And, he loved his dogs and cats.

Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Melissa A. Hendricks and her husband Scott, of Souderton, PA, Dorene M. Jones and her husband Rusty, of Hilltown, PA, and Angela M. Guyn and her husband Richard, of Lehighton, PA; eight grandchildren, Zachary Hendricks, Gregory Hendricks, Anthony Jones, Kasey Gilbert and her husband Zachary, Alexander Guyn and his wife Morgan, Christopher Guyn and his fiancée Jurnee, Cameron Guyn and his fiancée Jada, and Dylan Guyn and his companion Hannah; two great-grandchildren, Levi and Nora Gilbert; and his cat, Max. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Thomas Althouse; and his cat Maddie.

Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Services to be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 2, 2026, at First United Church of Christ, 151 S. 4th Street, Quakertown, PA. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Sellersville Cemetery, Sellersville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Church of Christ, 151 S. 4th Street, Quakertown, PA 18951.

Arrangements are by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
