Richard "Dick" A. Anderson, 86, of Kewanee, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo. Dick was born August 16, 1938, in Kewanee, the son of Arlo Glen and Jeannie Elizabeth (Donaldson) Anderson. Dick attended and graduated from Kewanee High School with the class of 1956. Dick married Carolyn Jean Edwards on September 5, 1959, in Kewanee; she survives.

Dick is also survived by two children, Mark (Cynthia) Anderson, Libertyville, IL, James (Bonnie) Anderson, Groveland, FL; four grandchildren, Alissa (Eddie) Sindles, Libertyville, IL, Kayla (Matt) Henry, Libertyville, IL, Ashlee (Jon) Taylor, Riverview, FL, Joshua (Jade) Anderson, Brandon, FL; six great grandchildren, Edward and Emerson Sindles, Ava Henry, Max Taylor, Juliette and Jeremiah Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Anderson; and a sister, Sharon Guthrie.

Dick served in the Army Reserves from 1961 until 1967. Dick worked for 40 years at Illinois Power. He was a business manager of IBEW Local 1306. He served for many years as president of the Utility Employees Credit Union Board of Directors.

Dick's hunting expeditions spanned over 50 years which took him to the icy landscapes of Greenland where he hunted reindeer, the vast savannas of Africa, and the rugged terrains of Argentina. In the United States, Dick was known for his impressive pursuits of Bison in the mountains of Utah, Elk in Colorado and White Tail Deer in Wyoming. His adventures in Canada were marked by the successful and ethical hunting of Bear and Caribou, a testament to his skills and deep respect for wildlife. Dick's tales of these excursions were not merely about the hunt but about the connection with nature and the pure joy of being part of something greater than oneself. Dick was an avid trap shooter since high school, winning numerous competitions over the years.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 pm, Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Monday, August 25, 2025, at the funeral home.
