Richard L. Arthur Sr.

Richard Lindell Arthur, Sr. lived the life of honor that the Lord laid before him and journeyed home to meet Jesus on November 23, 2025, at 93 years old. He was born in Grantsville, WV on July 16, 1932, to Theodore "Ted" and Goldie (nee Shimer) Arthur. He married the love of his life, Helen Arthur (nee Stiffler) in Mary 1956 and kept his wedding vows of 69 years until his last breath.

Richard served his country as an army corporeal during the Korean War from 1952-1954. In 1955, he moved to Elyria, OH, where he worked at Ford Motor Company until he retired.

His life passions included antiques, pocket watches, westerns, flea markets, ball games, puzzles, and most importantly, his family

.

Richard served God faithfully and with integrity though his words and actions.

Richard was a loving father to his four children and their spouses, Richard "Rick" Arthur and wife, Kimberly "Kim" (nee Scarbrough), Sherri Gall, and husband William "Bill", Sandra "Sue" Scarbrough, and husband David and Deborah "Debbie" Raven. He was loving grandpa to his ten grandchildren and spouses, Kathryn "Katie" Arthur, Cullen Arthur, Sarah Gall, William Gall, Jennifer "Jenny" Snook (nee Scarbrough), and husband Matthew "Matt", Kyle Scarbrough, Mark Raven, Matthew "Matt" Raven, and wife Amy (nee Fox), John Raven, and wife Georgia (nee DeLange) and Jacob Raven; loving great grandpa to his eleven great grandchildren and spouse, Jada and husband Neil, Evangeline "Evan", Eli, Elijah, Joshua, Aaron, Hannah, David, Andrew "AJ", BoAllen and Buck.

Preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Goldie Arthur and son-in-law Daniel Raven.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 12pm at the Busch Funeral Home, 114 Second St., Elyria. Friends may call from 11am to the service at noon.

Burial will be on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 11am Brookdale Cemetery 41600 Oberlin -Elyria, Rd., Elyria.
