Richard Z. Arzoomanian, 87, of Whitefield, NH and formerly of Cumberland, RI, passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side on his beloved wife’s birthday, October 12th, at Coos County Nursing Home in Berlin, NH. Richard was born in Providence, RI on August 22, 1938, the son of the late Richard and Carmina “Carrie” (Colavecchio) Arzoomanian. Richard graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1956 where he met his wife of 58 years, Kathleen Kennedy Arzoomanian. Richard and Kathleen were dedicated, loving parents to their daughter, Rhoda Arzoomanian.

Richard graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Rhode Island and for many years, Richard applied his professional and working knowledge of injection molding and manufacturing at Tupperware, Hasbro, Sweetheart Plastics and Tech Industries before retiring. Richard was also a proud member of the United States Army, primarily serving in the Rhode Island National Guard. Richard enjoyed many golf leagues in RI and NH, bowling leagues, softball leagues and was active in the Historic Saint Joseph’s Parish. Throughout his life, Richard was a car enthusiast, from his days of drag racing in his younger years through his last purchase of a classic 1984 Mustang GT.

Upon retirement, Richard and his wife split time between Florida and New Hampshire along with frequent trips to Wisconsin to spend time with their daughter Rhoda, and their cherished grandchildren, Alexander and Arianna, attending many school, religious and sporting events. Richard was loved and respected by family and many close friends. His quick wit, charming smile, silent strength, and his never-ending willingness to drive anywhere, fix anything, and spend time chatting knowledgeably about a variety of topics will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Richard’s Life Celebration on Sunday, November 9th from 1-3 pm at the North Scituate Community House, 546 W Greenville Rd, Scituate, RI. Richard’s burial beside his wife at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Johnston, RI will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to Tunnels to Towers Foundation (www.t2t.org) would be appreciated. To leave a message of condolence please visit www.bryantfuneralhome.net.
