Richard A. Benedyk

Richard Allen Benedyk, age 73, beloved husband of Catherine Delporte Benedyk, loving father of Kathleen (and Gregg) Fuglsang, Kristyn Benedyk, and the late Kimberley (and Robert) Sandford, devoted grandfather of Hannah, Tyler, Kyle, Ricky, and JD, and dear brother of Linda (and Larry) Gnat, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, surrounded by his wife and daughters after a brave battle with Multiple System Atrophy, a rare illness that he fought with strength and humor. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Harriet Benedyk, his brothers Jerry, Jimmy, and Dennis, and his two daughters.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, November 20, 3:00-7:30 p.m. at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home 430 E. Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton, IL 60187. Additional visitation Friday, November 21 at St. Michael's Catholic Church 310 S. Wheaton Ave., Wheaton, IL 60187, from 9 a.m. until time of Celebration of Life Mass at 10 a.m. Luncheon to follow. Private interment.
Richard was a model of generosity and empathy. His sense of humor was unforgettable. His family was his pride and joy, and he was endlessly proud of them, as well as of the movement they created (A Pint For Kim) in his daughter Kimberley's memory. The family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, you consider becoming a regular blood donor to give more time to all those facing medical battles or to donate to your local food pantry to help those in need.
